As an extension of the project ‘The study and sustainable conservation of varieties of local plants’, the Plant Protection Directorate organises educational visits intended for students of an age between 5 and 16 years to make them aware of the importance of conserving local plant varieties that are at risk of genetic erosion.

The following are some important points in relation to these school visits:

  • A tour of the Botanical Garden "Ġnien il-Pjanti Maltin";
  • Interactive presentations related to the sustainable conservation of varieties of local plants;
  • Practical session e.g. sowing of seeds;
  • Educational Indoor/Outdoor games.
